The Christian Education Committee's Mission at Prospect Congregational Church is the education of not only our children, but adults as well. We are blessed with a committed team whose ministry is realized thru this committee.
Prospect Congregational Church has a “kid safe” nursery complete with a changing table, crib and many age appropriate toys. Each Sunday our nursery is staffed by one of our dedicated Deacons. This support enables our mom's and dad's to worship while their little ones are safe and secure. Upon request, nursery care is also available during church meetings.
Prospect Congregational Church's Sunday school classes include Pre-K, K-1st, 2nd, 3rd thru 4th, 5th thru 6th , 7th thru 8th and High School. Grades Pre-K thru 8th meet for Bible instruction on Sunday's during church service. High School Bible instruction is held on Monday 5:45 pm to 6:45 pm.
Prospect Congregational Church has a dedicated staff of teachers. Our curriculum includes lessons from both the “Faith Weaver” and “Bible Quest” programs. These curriculums foster group discussion and class participation. Our goal is to bring the children to the Bible and get the Bible out of the classroom and into the world!
At Prospect Congregational Church Christian Education takes an active role in presenting alternative Youth programs and activities. We have an active Bible Mentoring Program that is kicked off by a 3rd grade Bible social. Other activities include conformation classes, curriculums that teach about Communion and stewardship and Vacation Bible School. Many other programs are offered during the year such as Children's Sunday, Junior and Senior High School Fellowship and programs to celebrate the Advent season such as our Christmon program and Christmas Pageant. For adults, Prospect Congregational Church Board of Christian Education offers a variety of adult Bible study programs during the year. Program times are structured available as well as information on various retreats offered within the Christian community.
